BEAT Goes Global (Virtually) in India with US Department of State

BEAT is thrilled to announce a brand-new partnership with the US Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs: Arts Envoy Program to bring BEAT Rockers to over 100 youth with disabilities in New Delhi & Mumbai, India.

Led by Beatbox extraordinaires Chris Celiz and Chesney Snow, we witnessed these students come alive during four beatboxing workshops. They also led a professional development workshop for 24 passionate teachers and teaching artists.

We thank the students, teachers, caregivers and parents, and community-based organizations across India for jamming out with us! We appreciated your cool sounds, creativity and insight.

Thank you, also, to the U.S. Department of State and the United States Mission India’s American Center New Delhi and U.S. Consulate General, Mumbai, for your partnership and dedication to the disability community.

Stay tuned for Arts Envoy: Venezuela in the coming months!
